  • I had never read this book in its entirety. I believe that I must have read an abridged version for children when young. This is so much rounder and so much darker than the "children's version. I am glad I had the chance to fill in this gap in my reading.

  • I enjoyed going back to the beginning of this series. The girls are growing up and suffering the pains of entering an adult world - just like every generation. I would recommend this to everyone, just to see how it was then

Dubois

  • A book which one read when in school but which a group of Brits decided to read for Xmas. A lot of charm remains although too sentimental in places and very outdated. But one can't help shedding tears from time to time.

  • I'm very disappointed by the edition I received. I really thought I head bought a nice edition and instead had a mediocre one
